A collaborative project by The YP Foundation and the Guttmacher Institute to capacitate young people to conduct evidence-based advocacy to advance their sexual and reproductive health rights.

The YP Foundation with the support of the Guttmacher Institute and through the use of the Adding It Up research capacitated young people to conduct evidence-based advocacy to advance their Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights. The project involved equipping young people through virtual capacity-building sessions with advocacy skills and knowledge about the SRHR policy landscape in the country and enabling them to utilise information and data on the status of contraceptive and abortion care and policy to lead advocacy initiatives in their regions. Once trained, they led and facilitated six multi-stakeholder engagements in their states and engaged with over 300 stakeholders who are central to the adolescent SRHR ecosystem towards ascertaining insights that complement existing evidence. A national dialogue culminating these efforts served to utilize the available evidence to raise stronger civic voices towards government accountability on Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (AYSRHR) needs and demands.
