Campus Caravan, GBV Prevention – Officer

Asma is feminist activist working closely and innovatively with diverse groups of young people since 2018. She has domain knowledge and technical expertise in Ending Violence Against Children (EVAC), Gender Rights, Sexual and Gender Based Violence, Masculinity Perspectives and young people’s skill building.

At TYPF, she supports GBV Prevention through Campus Caravan Project to strengthen mechanisms and practices to prevent and respond to instances of violence within campuses, to increase leadership of young people on issues around gender-based violence and advocating their rights to safe inclusive space and to strengthen advocacy and networks for the inclusion of youth-affirmative policies with Higher Education Departments and UGC. Asma has done her Post Graduation in Defense & Strategic Studies and Social Work from Barkatullah University, Madhya Pradesh. She is associated with the National Young People’s Action Team of YuWaah – Generation Unlimited, co-founder of TJJS Alliance, Madhya Pradesh working for health rights of children & adolescents and a board member of Youngshala – an inclusive space for young people to develop and grow themselves and learn about constitutional values creatively.

She is a hodophile and loves to travel in forests and mountains the most. Writing Ghazals with a strong cup of milky coffee is a therapy for her. She aspires to collectivize a network of young people with perspectives to eradicate toxic masculinities and gender-based violence.
