Policy Engagement – Officer

Abhinav is a youth advocate on adolescent health issues especially Sexual, Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) with over six years of experience in development and policy engagement & advocacy at national and sub-national levels. At The YP Foundation, he works as a Programme Officer – Policy Engagement to anchor and support the policy engagement portfolio of the organisation with the focus on advocacy around health and well-being issues of young people.He holds a masters degree in Public Health with specialisation in Community Medicine.

Before joining TYPF, he worked at PISRD, a grass root level organisation in Lucknow. As an advocacy lead he has led various research and advocacy based projects to strengthen young people’s access to SRHR especially safe abortion services. Besides being an Action Fellow for Menstrual Hygiene Management by Youth Ki Awaaaz, he has represented organisations globally in the International Conference on Family Planning, International Social Behaviour Change Communication Summit etc. He has also been identified as Knowledge Management Champion at the Asia level by the Knowledge SUCCESS for his diverse work on SRH with respect to creating knowledge resources.
