Policy Engagement – Senior Programme Officer

Souvik is a youth advocate on sexual and reproductive health and rights, especially safe abortion. At TYPF, Souvik leads policy engagement and reseach across key issues including SRHR, Meaningful Youth Particioation and Adolescent Health at the local, regional, national, and international level. He has experience in undertaking quantitative and qualitative research, policy advocacy, programme management, and event organisation.

Souvik has a master’s degree in public health and a bachelor’s degree in dentistry. He is a fellow under the Youth Champions Initiative under Rise Up (Public Health Institute in California) and The David and Lucile Packard Foundation. He is also a member of the Youth Advisory Group on abortion stigma in The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and is a special invitee to the steering committee of CommonHealth. Before joining TYPF, he worked with the Indian Institute of Public Health in Bhubaneswar (IIPHB), and in the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI).
