Ali’s work is principally aimed at addressing the issue of social exclusion. At TYPF, he works in Nizamuddin to implement the Learning Communities programme. The programme builds the leadership skills of adolescents and young girls in the community. Along with this, he also works on building meaningful youth participation in TYPF’s programmes and takes care of all operational work at TYPF.

Ali holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in social work. He comes with experience in using theatre as a medium for social change. He is also a professional Forum Theatre artist. Before joining TYPF, he worked with the Aga Khan Trust and Taleem in the Nizamuddin Basti area. He moved to Pravah in 2014, where he trained as a facilitator. Following this, he joined Commutiny – The Youth Collective where he became part of the National Campaign called “Bas! Stop Discrimination Right Now”. He has also worked with the Diksha Foundation in the Kusumpur Pahari slum community in New Delhi.​
