About The YP Foundation:
The YP Foundation (TYPF) is a youth-led organisation that facilitates young people’s feminist and rights-based leadership on issues of health equity, gender justice, sexuality rights, and social justice. TYPF ensures that young people have the information, capacity, and opportunities to inform and lead the development and implementation of programmes and policies that impact their lives and are recognised as skilled and aware leaders of social change.
About Loud and Queer Programme:
Loud & Queer is TYPF’s intervention on queer rights and diversity. Through this programme, we create resources, platforms and leadership abilities to address critical issues of health, sexuality, prevention of violence and discrimination and increase awareness about the lives and issues of LGBTQIA+ persons. We aim to ensure access to resources and services towards pleasure-affirmative information on safer sex, prevention of discrimination and violence. Overall, we hope to improve the experience of education, health seeking and livelihood and work for young LGBTQ+ persons.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the programme/function in planning and execution of the assigned activities, tasks and responsibilities.
Programme Development and Planning
- Leading a team of consultants and diverse youth leaders for building resource materials, capacity building processes and dialogue platforms.
- Designing and leading in-depth engagements with diverse young people and multiple stakeholders such as civil society organizations as well as government stakeholders, to build progressive narratives towards rights of LGBTQIA+ people.
- Documentation and collation of insights, data, feedback and testimonials from the interventions into external facing documents including briefs and reports.
- Developing an evaluation framework to measure the impact of capacity building and policy engagement processes against outcomes as identified within the project proposal
- Actively leading the creation and documentation of organisational learning and insights for other programmes at TYPF based on this engagement
- Overseeing recruitment responsibilities within this programme including interns, wherever necessary
- Working with communications teams to develop and implement a communications strategy for outreach to diverse stakeholders including the media.
- Supervising day-to-day team processes such as check-ins, work updates, mentoring, troubleshooting etc.
- Representing TYPF’s values, brand and identity to external stakeholders on various platforms and forums.
Due Diligence, Monitoring and Evaluation
- Regular monitoring against set targets to ensure high quality on ground delivery
- Ongoing assessment of shifts and change among participants and young leaders to ensure target outcomes are achieved
- Writing and reviewing due diligence reports and periodic updates for other staff, senior management and the organisation’s board
Fundraising and Project Finances
- Support in developing fundraising targets for the subsequent years and creating annual budgets and plans
- Managing programme due diligence and reporting
- Tracking project finances and filing monthly expenditure reports
Organisational Development
- Participate in systems strengthening, and implementing and monitoring of institutional systems and processes
- Represent the organization and the programme in external platforms, showcase impact and ongoing work or participation in training workshops, events and/or policy engagement processes.
Eligibility Criteria
- Graduate from a recognised university in any field
- 3-5 years of total prior experience working on thematics relating to gender, sexuality, , queer and trans rights, SRHRJ (candidates with less than 3 years of experience will not be considered)
- 1-2 years of prior experience leading projects relating to gender, sexuality, queer rights, SRHRJ
- Experience in designing and implementing training content and methodologies on themes mentioned above
- Demonstrated experience of using online and digital tools for communication, training and project management
- Prior knowledge and experience of campus-based programming especially on thematic issues closely related to gender and sexuality
- Fluency in English and Hindi (written and spoken)
- Proficiency in using web-based and MS office applications for key communication, documentation and institutional and programmatic processes
- Experienced in written documentation and writing reports, case studies, stories of change, media briefs and creating and editing programme-based content
- Experience of working in an implementation role to achieve goals and targets
Desirable, but not necessary skills may include
- Technical skills in spatial planning, visual design, curation, using digital and social media, on-ground campaigning etc
- Prior experience of writing external facing documents such as briefs, position papers, articles or statements
Salary Range: 55,000 – 75,000 INR/month
